Rocky Point State Park

Rocky Point State Park is Warwick's best piece of public shoreline. The old amusement park has been cleared away, leaving lawns, walking paths, bay views, and a faintly nostalgic feeling that Rhode Islanders still talk about with surprising emotion.

Come for a low-key walk rather than a packed attraction. The views over Narragansett Bay are wide, the breezes are good, and the park is especially useful if you want coastal air without driving all the way to Newport or Narragansett.

A story
Rocky Point was once one of New England's great amusement parks, with shore dinners, rides, and crowds arriving by trolley, boat, and car. The rides are gone, but the public park keeps the best asset: the open edge of Narragansett Bay.
