Getting Around

Nashville International Airport is 8 miles east of downtown off I-40. MTA buses connect the airport to downtown; most hotels run shuttle services. A car is the most practical way to get around for anything beyond the downtown core and the immediately adjacent neighbourhoods — Nashville is a sprawling city and public transport is limited. Downtown itself is walkable, and ride-shares are reliable. The WeGo bus system covers the main corridors but is slow. Bikes are an option in East Nashville and around Vanderbilt, where streets are flatter and drivers are used to cyclists.
