Dealey Plaza and the Sixth Floor Museum

Site of the Kennedy assassination with a thorough museum above

The site of the Kennedy assassination on 22 November 1963, preserved essentially as it looked on that day. The Sixth Floor Museum occupies the sniper's perch in the former Texas School Book Depository and covers the assassination and its aftermath in exhaustive detail. A white X on Elm Street marks the spot where the president was shot. The area draws visitors in large numbers; the museum itself is well done.
