The Buffalo Soldiers National Museum, housed in the historic Houston Light Guard Armory, tells the story of Black American soldiers from the frontier cavalry regiments through later American wars.
The collection is strongest for military history, uniforms, photographs, and personal stories that connect the Buffalo Soldiers to the wider African-American experience. It makes a good smaller stop alongside Houston's larger Museum District institutions.
