Kerrville-Schreiner Park

517 acres of Hill Country on the Guadalupe River, good for camping, hiking, and swimming

Address 2385 Bandera Hwy, Kerrville, TX 78028

Kerrville-Schreiner Park sits on the Guadalupe River about two miles south of downtown, covering 517 acres of typical Hill Country terrain — limestone bluffs, cedar and live oak woodland, and clear river frontage. The park has a good network of hiking trails through the hills, several miles of river access for swimming and wading, and a campground that fills up on summer weekends and during the Folk Festival.

The river here is clean and shallow in summer, with flat limestone slabs for sunbathing and enough flow to float on an inner tube. It is the most convenient stretch of the Guadalupe for in-town visitors who want river access without driving to a private outfitter. Day use is inexpensive; camping is available with electrical hookups or primitive sites in the backcountry area.
