Prairie Dog Town is a small, easy stop in Mackenzie Park where prairie dogs pop in and out of their burrows in full view of visitors. It does not need a long visit, but it is one of the more memorable quick stops in town, especially with children.
The charm is in the simplicity. You stand at the edge of the colony, wait a few seconds, and the ground starts looking busier than it did when you arrived.
