Texas Tech's public art collection gives the campus a good reason to wander even if you are not here for a game or class. Sculptures and installations are spread across the university, so the experience is more walk than gallery visit.
It is also one of the easiest ways to see Lubbock's better side: broad lawns, red-brick buildings, students moving between classes, and pieces of contemporary art turning a practical campus into a loose outdoor museum.
