Things to Do

Bluff is a base, not a destination in itself. The surrounding Colorado Plateau is one of the richest repositories of Ancestral Puebloan archaeology on earth, and Cedar Mesa to the north contains hundreds of accessible ruins. Monument Valley is an hour south. The San Juan River runs through town and offers river float trips. The town itself is tiny and pleasant — there are artists' studios, a few good places to eat, and a strong sense of living in a genuinely remote corner of the American Southwest.
