Utah State University

Utah State University occupies a campus on a bench above downtown Logan with views across the Cache Valley to the Wellsville Mountains. Founded in 1888 as an agricultural college, it is a land-grant research university of about 27,000 students. The campus architecture mixes late 19th-century collegiate buildings with mid-century modernism and newer additions.

Old Main, the original 1890 building on the upper campus, is the USU landmark: a red-brick Victorian structure with a clock tower that can be seen from much of the valley. The campus also houses the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, which has an excellent collection of 20th-century American art, and several natural history collections open to the public.
