Corona Arch is one of the most impressive arches in the Moab area and sees a fraction of Arches National Park's crowds, largely because it sits on BLM land outside the park boundary. The arch is enormous — 140 feet wide and 105 feet tall — and the hike to reach it is varied and interesting, crossing slickrock, climbing a short ladder, and ascending a fixed cable section before arriving at the base of the arch.
The 3-mile round trip trail also passes two smaller arches: Pinto Arch and Bowtie Arch. The trail starts off US-191 near the Potash Road turnoff, about 10 miles west of Moab. It does this partly in direct sun, so go early or late. The views from inside the arch looking back down the canyon toward the Colorado River are outstanding.
Unlike the national parks, there is no entry fee and no timed entry system — arrive and walk.
