Mill Canyon Dinosaur Tracks

BLM boardwalk site north of Moab with more than 200 Early Cretaceous dinosaur footprints.

Mill Canyon Dinosaur Tracks is one of the easiest ways around Moab to stand close to real fossil footprints rather than just read about them in a museum. A short boardwalk protects the tracksite while interpretive panels point out prints left by several kinds of Early Cretaceous animals.

The visit is quick, but it sticks with you. North of town, among dry washes and pale rock, the tracks make Moab's deep time visible at ground level. Stay on the boardwalk and marked paths; the whole point of the site is that fragile fossils survive only if visitors do not treat them like ordinary stone.
