Getting Around

Downtown Ogden is walkable — Historic 25th Street, Union Station, and the Temple grounds are all within easy walking distance of each other. A car is useful for reaching the hill attractions (Eccles Dinosaur Park, the botanical gardens) and essential for the ski resorts and canyon destinations outside town.

UTA bus routes cover the city and connect Ogden to Salt Lake City; the FrontRunner commuter rail runs frequently on weekdays and a reduced schedule on weekends. Taxis and rideshares are available. Cycling is feasible for the river parkway and the flat lower town, though the canyon approaches are steep. The city centre is compact enough that if you are just doing downtown and a museum, a car is not strictly necessary.
