Utah's Hogle Zoo

Utah's Hogle Zoo sits at the mouth of Emigration Canyon on the eastern edge of the city, adjacent to This Is The Place Heritage Park. The zoo houses several hundred species, with notable exhibits for great apes, big cats, elephants, and giraffes, plus a popular children's area with interactive elements and a small train.

The zoo has undergone major renovations in recent years, adding a large African Savanna habitat that gives the giraffes, zebras, and other plains animals considerably more room than in older zoos. Summer evenings sometimes feature live music events in the grounds. It is a practical half-day stop if you are already heading out to Emigration Canyon or the Heritage Park next door.
