Stowe Recreation Path

5.3-mile paved trail through the village along the West Branch of the Little River

The Stowe Recreation Path is a 5.3-mile paved trail that runs along the West Branch of the Little River from the village green out toward the mountains, passing through some of the most scenic farmland and mountain views in Stowe. It is the social spine of the village — in summer it fills with cyclists, rollerbladers, walkers, and dog-walkers at all hours.

Bike rentals are available at multiple points along the path for those who want to cover the full length. The path crosses several covered wooden footbridges, passes within sight of Mount Mansfield for much of its length, and connects to various spurs that lead to inns, restaurants, and the mountain access roads. In autumn the foliage along the path is spectacular. It is one of the best recreation paths in Vermont.
