Getting Around

Colonial Williamsburg's historic area is compact and best navigated on foot — the Duke of Gloucester Street is a pedestrian corridor and most sights are within a 20-minute walk of each other. Colonial Williamsburg operates its own bus loop connecting the visitor centre, hotels, and the historic area.

A car is useful for reaching Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, and the outlying plantations. The Colonial Parkway is drivable in an afternoon without a long drive. Downtown Williamsburg has ample parking near the Visitors Center.
