Bellevue's convention centre occupies a modern building in the heart of downtown and hosts events ranging from trade shows to concerts and community gatherings. For the independent visitor it is more relevant as an indicator of Bellevue's development as a self-sufficient business city — it no longer exports all its conferences to Seattle.
The adjacent Meydenbauer Bay Park, opened in 2020, is more interesting: a reclaimed industrial waterfront on the small inlet of Lake Washington, with a walking path, kayak launch, and views across the bay. The park transformed what had been a private marina into genuine public lakeside space and is now one of Bellevue's better outdoor spots.
