Eldridge Avenue Historical District preserves one of Bellingham's notable older residential streetscapes, with houses that reflect the city's growth around timber, shipping, and rail links. It is a quieter historic stop than downtown Fairhaven, but it helps explain the city's neighbourhood fabric.
The district is best experienced as a respectful walk, not as a museum. Go for architecture, mature trees, and a sense of early Bellingham, while remembering that most of what you see is private property.
