Getting There

Fayetteville is on US-19, the four-lane that links Charleston with Interstate 79 north of the gorge. It's an easy drive from most of the eastern US.

By car: from Washington DC, about 5 hours via I-66 and I-81 south. From Pittsburgh, 4 hours. From Charleston WV, just 45 minutes south. Charlotte and Cincinnati are both about 4 hours.

By air: the nearest commercial airports are Charleston Yeager (CRW) about an hour northwest, and Raleigh County Memorial (BKW) about 30 minutes south near Beckley. Both have limited daily flights, mostly via Charlotte and Atlanta.

There is no train service or scheduled bus service to Fayetteville itself. Local rafting outfitters sometimes arrange shuttles for guests from Charleston or Yeager Airport.
