The Albany

The Albany has been on Capitol Avenue, two blocks north of the railway depot, since 1942 — making it the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Cheyenne. The space is classic American steakhouse: dark wood, low lighting, padded booths, a long bar at the back. The menu does prime rib, ribeyes, burgers, and a serviceable Caesar salad; the cocktail list runs to old-fashioneds and martinis.

Lunch is a downtown business crowd, dinner skews more touristy in summer. Reasonable prices, generous portions, no surprises — exactly the right place for a low-stakes meal at the end of a long Wyoming day.
