Museo Historico Sarmiento is a compact history museum focused on Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, the writer, educator, and president who helped shape modern Argentina. It also covers the Generation of '80, the political elite that pushed the country toward European-style modernisation.
The museum is most rewarding if you already have some interest in Argentine history, but the building and the exhibits add useful context to Belgrano beyond its cafes and residential streets.
