Parrilla del Puerto (Ingeniero White)

The cluster of fish and seafood restaurants along the waterfront in Ingeniero White is the best eating in the wider Bahía Blanca area. They are informal, inexpensive by Argentine standards, and serve whatever came off the boats that morning — corvina, lenguado (flounder), and local shellfish are the staples.

The restaurants here are family-run rather than slick, and the setting — watching cargo ships move slowly past while eating grilled fish — has a genuine working-harbour atmosphere that no city-centre restaurant can replicate. Go for lunch at weekends when they are busiest and freshest. Most are unlicensed in the sense of not having wine lists worth discussing, but cold local beer is always available.
