La Plata's major attractions are spread across a compact city centre that is very walkable. The cathedral, Teatro Argentino, and Plaza Moreno are all within a few blocks of each other; the Museo de La Plata and Paseo del Bosque are a 15-minute walk north. Most visitors see everything on foot.
The city has a good local bus network that covers the entire urban area. Taxis are plentiful and inexpensive by European standards. The university area near Paseo del Bosque is well served by both. La Plata does not have a metro system, but it is small enough that you rarely need one.
