Ecocentro

Marine interpretation centre on the southern headland, useful before heading out to the wildlife coast.

Ecocentro explains the marine life that brings people to Puerto Madryn: whales, sea lions, elephant seals, seabirds, and the fragile food chain of the Patagonian coast. It is not a huge museum, but it gives useful context before you spend a day scanning the bay or driving to Peninsula Valdes.

The building's position is half the pleasure. It sits near Punta Cuevas on a headland south of the centre, with broad views back across Golfo Nuevo and enough wind to make the indoor exhibits feel welcome.
