Most visitors arrive through Trelew's Almirante Marcos A. Zar Airport, about 60km south of Puerto Madryn, because it has more reliable flight connections. Buses and remises connect the airport with Madryn, and rental cars are useful if you plan to visit El Doradillo, Punta Loma, or Peninsula Valdes independently.
Long-distance buses link Puerto Madryn with Buenos Aires, Trelew, Gaiman, and the wider Patagonian route network. The bus ride from Buenos Aires is long, but it is a common budget route.
