Puerto Madryn's activities are about the sea and the wildlife in it: southern right whales in the Golfo Nuevo from June to December, snorkelling with the sea lions at Punta Loma, diving in the bay, and day trips out to Península Valdés. The whale-watching boats themselves leave from Puerto Pirámides on the peninsula, a hundred kilometres away.
