Tarija's Paleontology Museum makes sense in a region known for fossil finds. The collection is small but memorable, with prehistoric animal remains, regional archaeology, and enough local context to make the surrounding valleys feel much older than the colonial city centre suggests.
Do not expect a polished big-city museum. Its charm is closer to an old-school local collection, worth an hour if you like natural history or want a break from plazas, wineries, and warm afternoon streets.
