El Sillar — the saddle — is a high pass south of Tupiza where the landscape opens up into a panorama of eroded ridges, spires and red-stained badlands. From the road you look down on a country of pinnacles that would not be out of place in southern Utah.
Many Tupiza riding outfitters include El Sillar as a viewpoint on their longer half-day and full-day trips. It is also reachable by car or mountain bike along the old road south toward Villazón.
