Memorial do Cerrado

Cultural and environmental complex explaining the Cerrado biome and central Brazil's settlement history

Memorial do Cerrado is one of Goiânia's best places to understand the landscape around the city rather than just the city itself. The complex focuses on the Cerrado biome, Indigenous presence, rural settlement, and the environmental pressures on central Brazil's savanna.

It is a little removed from the most central sights, but worth the trip if you want context for Goiás beyond parks and modernist avenues. The best visits are unhurried, with time for the open-air areas as well as the exhibits.
