Parque Flamboyant is one of Goiânia's better urban breathing spaces, set in Jardim Goiás near the Serra Dourada stadium. It has the ingredients locals actually use: two lakes, lawns, running and cycling paths, children's areas, and enough shade and water to make the cerrado heat feel less severe.
Come late in the day, when the park shifts from exercise ground to social promenade. It is not a wilderness escape, but it gives a good feel for modern Goiânia: apartment towers close by, families circling the paths, and a city that has learned to make parks part of ordinary life.
