Pirenópolis is 120 kilometres northwest of Brasília on the GO-070 road. The journey takes around 90 minutes by car. There are regular bus services from the Brasília rodoviária (main bus terminal), with the journey taking about two hours. From Goiânia, the state capital, it's about 150 kilometres to the south; buses connect the two cities as well.
There is no train service and no local airport. Most visitors arrive by car or bus from Brasília, often as a weekend trip. The road in from the east passes through pleasant cerrado landscape and is in good condition.
