A Portinha is a comida por kilo — you pile a plate from the buffet and pay by weight. What makes it stand out is the range. There are usually three or four kinds of fish, a couple of meats, a long row of cold salads, regional dishes like acarajé and vatapá, plus a separate counter for pastas, rice, and feijoada. Desserts are included in the weight, which is unusual.
It's busy at lunchtime with both locals and tourists, fast, fairly priced, and a good way to taste a lot of different things in one sitting. Easy to find on the Largo da Igreja, opposite the church.
