Praia da Pitinga

Pitinga is Arraial's most photogenic beach. The sand is paler than at Mucugê and the backdrop is a wall of soft clay cliffs streaked red, orange, and white — at low tide they catch the afternoon sun and turn the whole beach into a colour study. The water is clear and the surf gentle.

It is less developed than Mucugê and Parracho. A handful of barracas serve fresh fish, but there are long stretches of empty sand between them. Behind the cliffs, a few small pousadas and beach houses are tucked into the trees. Walking south from Pitinga you reach Taipe in about thirty minutes — emptier still.
