Seminário da Prainha is one of Fortaleza's quieter historic buildings, a religious complex whose calm courtyards and old masonry sit close to the busier beach districts. It matters less as a blockbuster sight than as a piece of the city's nineteenth-century Catholic and educational history.
The seminary is worth a look if you are already exploring Praia de Iracema, the cathedral area, or the cultural circuit around the old centre. It gives a slower, more local counterpoint to Fortaleza's beach-first image.
