A shallow tidal lagoon inland of the coast at Tibau do Sul, about ten kilometres north of Pipa. The lagoon is famous for its sunsets — wide, mirror-flat water set against mangroves and palm-fringed islands. Local boatmen run sunset cruises in slow flat-bottomed boats from the small pier at Tibau, usually leaving around 16:30 and returning at dusk.
The lagoon is also navigable on stand-up paddleboards, which can be hired at the pier. Several beachfront restaurants along the lagoon — Pirâmide, Camarão Restaurante — make a good early-evening destination after the boat trip. Mosquitoes are an issue after sundown; bring repellent.
