Pier 54 is a waterfront bar on the Orla Bardot with the kind of position that sells drinks almost by itself — outdoor tables looking directly over the bay, boats passing, and a sunset view that the town's landlocked bars simply cannot match. The drinks list covers the usual Brazilian cocktails as well as cold beer and imported spirits.
It's best visited in the late afternoon as the day cools. Arrive before sunset if you want a waterfront table. The atmosphere is relaxed compared to the evening energy of Rua das Pedras — fewer young revellers, more couples and older visitors nursing drinks and watching the light change.
