Guaratuba is about ninety minutes by car from Curitiba on the BR-277 to Paranaguá and then south on the PR-412. From the north side of the bay at Caiobá in Matinhos, a small twenty-four-hour car ferry crosses to the town in about ten minutes — the shortcut most weekend visitors use. Buses run daily from Curitiba and from the coastal towns of Paraná.
