A long-established restaurant on Antonio Varas, run since 1881 from a wood-panelled dining room that has barely changed since the 1930s. The cooking is straightforward German-Chilean — kassler with sauerkraut, eisbein, jaegerschnitzel, and good fresh trout.
The prices are surprisingly fair for the quality and the setting. Beer comes in proper glass mugs from the Kunstmann brewery in Valdivia. Closed Sundays.
