Getting There

El Tepual Airport (PMC), sixteen kilometres west of the centre, is the second-busiest airport in Chile after Santiago. Direct flights from Santiago run almost hourly with LATAM, Sky, and JetSmart and take just under two hours.

Long-distance buses run from Santiago (about 12 hours), Bariloche in Argentina (about 6 hours via the Cardenal Samoré pass), and every town in southern Chile. The bus terminal is on the Costanera near Angelmó.

Ferries leave Puerto Montt heading south to Chaitén, Puerto Chacabuco, and Puerto Natales — Navimag's 3-day sailing through the Patagonian fjords to Puerto Natales is one of the great cruises of the southern hemisphere.
