A small, slightly old-fashioned restaurant in a corner house north of the centre, Damiana Elena has been run by the same family for years and is where locals tend to take visiting in-laws. The dining room is warm and softly lit, the staff have known each other forever, and the food is reliably good without being showy.
The signature dishes are the centolla gratinada (king crab baked with cheese), the lomo a la pimienta, and the lamb. Portions are generous; prices are reasonable by Patagonian-tourist-town standards.
