A tiny counter on Calle Roca, just off the Plaza, Kiosko Roca has been serving the same thing — small choripanes in a soft white roll, washed down with banana milk — to several generations of Punta Arenas office workers. There are about ten stools, no tables, and a line of people standing outside at lunchtime.
It is the cheapest and most quintessentially local meal you can have in the city. Two choripanes and a glass of milk costs less than a coffee at the tourist places. The kitchen closes early in the afternoon; come at noon.
