The Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá, known as MAMBO, is the main public museum for 20th and 21st-century Colombian and Latin American art. The permanent collection traces Colombian art from the early 20th century through contemporary work, with particular strength in the generation of Colombian painters who came of age in the 1950s–70s.
The museum mounts rotating temporary exhibitions that are often the strongest reason to visit — recent shows have brought international contemporary work alongside Colombian artists. Located near Parque Nacional on Calle 24, it is a good companion to the Museo Nacional a few blocks north. Open Tuesday to Saturday 10am–6pm, Sunday 10am–4pm.
