Medellín's two signature trips are the Comuna 13, where the escalators and the cable car are the point rather than the backdrop, and the day out to Guatapé and the Peñón.
The city is also the paragliding capital of the country: the ridge at San Félix is twenty minutes from the centre and flies most mornings.
