A massive Romanesque Revival cathedral facing Parque Bolívar in downtown Medellin, built between 1875 and 1931 entirely of brick — over a million handmade bricks, one of the largest brick buildings ever constructed. The twin square towers and the long basilica nave dominate the north side of the square.
Free to enter. Parque Bolívar in front holds a Sunday flea market and is one of the better people-watching squares downtown; mind your wallet.
