A long pedestrian plaza in front of the Museo de Antioquia, filled with twenty-three monumental bronze sculptures by Fernando Botero — voluptuous nudes, a cat, a horse, a Roman soldier, a hand, a head. People sit on them, lean against them, photograph each other on them; the patina shines where everyone has touched. It is genuinely civic art, free, unguarded, owned by the city.
Best in the late afternoon when the light catches the surfaces. Hold onto your phone — pickpockets work the crowd. Combine with the museum on the same square.
