The Malecón is the 10-kilometre clifftop esplanade that runs along the edge of Miraflores, looking down onto the Pacific from a height of 70 metres. It is a chain of small parks linked by a continuous pedestrian and cycle path: Parque del Amor with its famous Tuesday-the-statue El Beso and Gaudí-style mosaic walls; Parque Salazar with the Larcomar shopping centre cut into the cliff face below; and the Parque Raimondi where the paragliders launch.
Paragliding tandem flights operate from late morning until sunset — a 15-minute glide above the coastline is the highlight for many visitors. The Malecón is at its best at sunset, when joggers, dog-walkers, and couples line the railing. The Bajada Balta is the main path down to the rocky beaches below.
