Address Paseo Colón 125, Lima Centro
Website www.mali.pe

Lima's principal fine-arts museum, housed in the Palacio de la Exposición — a 19th-century iron-and-glass pavilion built for Lima's 1872 International Exhibition, with interior plans by a young Gustave Eiffel. The permanent collection covers 3,000 years of Peruvian art, from pre-Columbian textiles and Moche ceramics through colonial Escuela Cuzqueña paintings to 20th-century modernism. Particularly strong on the colonial and republican periods. There is a good temporary-exhibitions programme and a garden café.
