Maria Reiche Neuman Airport

The small aerodrome from which all tourist overflight of the Nazca Lines departs. Named after the German researcher who dedicated her life to studying the geoglyphs, the airport handles light aircraft carrying four to ten passengers. The flight operation is the economic engine of Nazca's tourism industry.

Multiple operators run flights daily, typically between 8am and 4pm. The standard circuit takes 30 to 45 minutes and covers the main geoglyph figures. Prices vary; shop around in town the day before rather than booking through hotels, which add a margin. The plane banks sharply to give each side of the aircraft a view of each figure in turn — those prone to motion sickness should take appropriate medication.
