The Centrumkerk is the main Dutch Reformed Church in Paramaribo, a dignified colonial building near the centre of the historic district. It was the church of the Dutch colonial establishment — the congregation of planters, merchants, and administrators who ran the colony — and its architecture reflects that status, plainer and more austere than the Roman Catholic cathedral but carrying considerable civic weight.
The surrounding streets are among the best preserved in the historic centre, and the church fits naturally into the colonial streetscape. The building is occasionally open to visitors; check locally for times.
