Day Trips

The most rewarding day trip from Coro is north onto the Paraguaná Peninsula, the flat windswept landmass across the Médanos isthmus. The colonial-flavoured fishing village of Adícora on the east coast is the standard destination — about 90 minutes by car or bus — with reliable trade winds for kitesurfing, a string of seafood restaurants on the beach, and quieter swimming bays to the south. The Cerro Santa Ana, the only real hill on the otherwise pancake-flat peninsula, can be climbed in a half-day from the village of Moruy on the same trip.
