Coro is reached by road from Maracaibo (about 3.5 hours east) or from Caracas (around 8 hours west, via Valencia and Morón). Long-distance buses run from all three cities to the Coro terminal a short taxi ride from the old town. The road from Maracaibo is generally good; the route from Caracas crosses several mountain passes and is slower than the distance suggests.
The small Coro airport (CZE) handles occasional domestic flights, but services are unreliable and most travellers fly to Maracaibo or Punto Fijo on Paraguaná instead. From Punto Fijo, a 1.5-hour bus or taxi crosses the isthmus and the Médanos to Coro.
